We are extremely pleased with the success of the ceasefire efforts in the Gaza Strip, which have led to a comprehensive halt to all escalations that began in October 2023. The ceasefire has restored hope and security to the residents, allowing them to inspect what remains of their homes and loved ones, and to begin planning a new phase of reconstruction.
As promised, we were among the first responders to the return of displaced persons by planning to receive displaced individuals returning to their homes from the southern and central Governorate of Gaza Strip. This was done in coordination with the relevant actors and the Municipality of Gaza, where we commenced debris removal and paving of main and vital roads to facilitate traffic flow.
We are currently working on additional urgent responses in the coming days to facilitate the safe return of our people to their homes in Gaza Governorate and its north.
It is worth mentioning that these interventions are being implemented through the Project “Gaza Emergency Response /Palestinian Territories 2023-2025”, in partnership with Islamic Relief Worldwide – Palestine Office, and executed by the Gaza Culture and Development Group GCDG.
