The current and ongoing state of escalation constitutes a complicated challenge to our efforts in creating a safe living environment for displaced people inside and outside shelters, which is considered the only refuge for them. Alongside distributing hot meals through Tekiyya and providing fresh bread to thousands of families in Gaza Governorate, we are simultaneously working to ensure a hygienic and hazard-free environment by implementing the "Shelters Cleaning" component
This component involves the provision of workers, tools, and necessary cleaning materials to maintain yards, stairways, corridors, and restrooms clean. Additionally, any rubbles of bombing or destruction affecting these centers are directly removed. These efforts alleviate the suffering of displaced persons and provide a degree of protection necessary to sustain their well-being. It is worth noting that this component supports 47 shelter centers across the Gaza Governorate, serving a total of 29,000 displaced individuals.
This component is one of the unique activities implemented by the Gaza Culture and Development Group Association in partnership with Islamic Relief Worldwide – Palestine Office. It’s is carried out in close coordination with partner organizations, particularly those working in water, sanitation, and hygiene sector (WASH), to ensure the delivery of high-quality, non-duplicated services
